AZ IRONWOOD created the topic: Scroll Saw Blade Clamps
Rarely do I ever use my ScrollSaw, but it is the only tool which will do certain jobs. When clamping in a new blade, I refreshed my memory on a problem. The length of the 'handle' on the upper blade clamp screw, is slightly too long, and will not allow complete tightening, as the bakelite protrusion eventually stops rotation of the screw, as it hits against, and is stopped, by another part. The excess length of the bakelite handle could be ground off, eliminating the 'interference', but being pressed for time, I simply replaced the clamping screw/handle, with a like threaded short hex head bolt. Problem solved expeditiously. Now I only have to 'not loose the wrench' ! ! !
