I remember way back in 1980 when this was introduced..... Oh how I wanted one!

Three kids, a wife, house payments, car payments..... well it didn't happen.

The last few years I have been interested in doing a lot more with routers, and as I have my interest was renewed with pin routing, and overarm routing. Since Shopsmith no longer made these I was looking at making my own or buying something on the cheap that might work. This was an on going idea but the simple over head pin setup I got off the web was just not up to my expectations. I returned it and got my money back.... I also found a new place on the web for router discussions... The router workshop guys started a site last fall......

OK lets say that after that I found this site and my interest in the Shopsmith one was peaked again. After looking around getting advice from here I manged to find one at about the price I was willing to pay.

Now I need to know more about this tool..... so maybe we can share some information and all learn.

If you have one please post a message, give us some details like year you got it, new/used, serial #, post a picture???, description of what it looks like, projects you've done with it, jigs that are helpful, tune up tips.... all things overarm.

I have had one of the pin routers for a long time. It is very nice in that I am able to see what the bit is cutting. As the years have moved on I haven't used it very much and would now like to sell it. It is essentially similar to the one on the page

It has a natural-stained top with one minor ding on it that was filled; the stand etc seem to be in very good condition. It is rigid and has no rust. I would like to include the 1 1/2 hp Craftsman Router that I have installed on it. There are a couple of wrenches to tighten the nuts on the column and to tighten the router chuck. I live near Peoria IL and if someone could not pick it up I would need to take it apart and pack three or four pkgs in order to be able to ship it UPS.

I have no recollection of how much I paid for it. With shipping and all I would like to clear $225. Please send a note if interested.
