I purchased a turning accessory several years ago, don't remember what it was called and can't find it in the SS catalog now, however is was a heavy plate attached to the way tubes and all your tool rests worked from it. However due to the size I can't get the headstock all the way to the right to the tailstock. Not able to use live center for small items as there is a 6 to 8" gap between the headstock and the tailstock. Anyone have any ideas for some kind of tube to extend the tailstock out to meet the headstock?

I noticed my initial reply to you, evidently is floating around somewhere in the Internet; as it failed to post to the website. So, since I don't recall what I sent, I'll fire some questions your way. ~ What is the overall length of the device? Does it mount onto only a singular waytube (if so, fore or aft?) Can the attachment be rotated foreward/rearward on the WayTube, and gain more clearance? Is there an alternate mounting configuration? Not visualizing the device, I'm 'wild guessing' it may be a 'Lathe Duplicator' accessory. Might you have the capability of taking digital photos, and posting to the 'Photo Gallery' ? For the name of the photo/s, just say ' What is this? ' . Include a tape measure (or something similar, like a carpenter's square; it helps visualization. By posting, you might 'activate' a member's memory banks; perhaps the owner of a like device. If I'm able to locate my library of reference books, one of my 'Power Tools For Woodworking' books may show the device. My itinerary is tied up, as I'm scheduled for some medical tests (their annual Country Club dues are probably due.)

As far as an alternative idea, for mounting the TailStock, I'll think about the possibilities, and get back to you. .... I am surprised no other member has replied to your plight ! ! ! AZI
