I am not sure how the Mark V works (never had one of those). I sure one of the others will know that one.

OK, I appreciate both of you guys answers. The suggestions Dean made are a possibility if no other surfaces. I assume it was two 15" pieces and I only have one left that is stripped near the end. It could be removed and a mold made with a repair at the stripped area and something made. The things used to fasten it to the pole could be a challenge. They have to fit the teeth of the engaging gear and they look like some sort of rivet.
I could probably use it without the gears but it is nicer with them and give a more precision adj.

The MarkV doesn't have a gear. It just slides on the tubes by pushing, no crank mechanism, like the ER.

Well, there you go. One of the areas they cut costs like the dust feature. I just heard from the guy that gave it to me and he said it wasn't there when he had it. I won't worry about it and go ahead and use it like it is. I just like to get stuff back to like it was new as much as I can.
