In a post below, I detailed the mess I'm in. In retrospect, I likely ran the tool too long without lubricating the spindles. It says every 10 hours in the manual and I am pretty sure I let it run past 10 hours running time without lubing the bits and pieces.

After reading some other posts on this board, I'm now worried that I've fried the bearings on the upper spindle. If the cam tends to melt when the bearings start to go out, and if I'm dumb enough to let the bearings run dry and potentially start to eat themselves  before lubing the thing and then the cam melts, it tells me that I may have F$%#ed the bearings.

OK, that leaves 2 questions:

Can you get replacement bearings?
How do you go about replacing the bearings if you CAN get them??

Did you ever find a replacement speed control cam?
